** The List of Solutions service is intended to help SMEs comply with requirements to submit a Carbon Reduction Plan.
It is only available to SMEs who would not otherwise be able to afford professional carbon consultancy fees, i.e. Pilot 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 participants.
Our pool of carbon consultant professionals offer their services pro bono, so availability is limited by their capacity at any given point.

What Happens Next
1 Approval/Rejection
Your Pilot administrator will promptly advise you whether your application has been approved or rejected.
2 Data Collection
Successful applicants will receive an email with:
- A unique See Through Carbon ID
- Confirmation of whether your application also qualifies for our beta List of Solutions free carbon-reduction advice with estimated carbon reduction outcomes.
- See Through Carbon’s data collection form (currently an Excel spreadsheet)
See Through Carbon processes completed data collection forms on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Pilot administrator will assess the current volume of applications being reviewed by our panel of pro bono carbon accounting experts, and inform you of your estimated wait before they check your data.
3 Follow-up
If, to calculate your carbon footprint accurately, we require more detail, the Pilot admin will email you any additional specific queries or clarification requests.
Note that participants approved for our ‘List of Solutions’ beta service are more likely to receive follow-up queries, to enable our expert consultants to fine-tune their advice to individual businesses.
4 Result: Your Accurate, Free, Open Transparent Carbon Footprint
When See Through Carbon has checked and analysed your data, the Pilot admin will email you a link to your See Through Carbon database page.
Your page will display your carbon footprint, with data visualisations designed to make it easy for anyone to understand, and for any regulator to check.
If you qualify for List of Solutions, the bespoke solutions and their estimated carbon reduction outcomes will also appear.
You can download your data to include in any compliance submissions to regulators requiring such information, or send them the link directly.
You are also free to share your page’s link with your management, employees, shareholders, investors, customers, and anyone is free to view your data.
5 Carbon Reduction
From 6 months after the date your baseline carbon footprint calculation is published on See Through Carbon’s database, approved Participants can re-submit updated data.
This new footprint data will be added to your database page, with data visualisations showing the trend of your carbon footprint, and the amount of emissions reduced (or increased) since your baseline entry.
Notes
Data protection
The only data we collect relates to your business’s emissions-generating activity. STC neither asks for, nor collects, any personal or financial data.
Transparency
Your data will be public by default, like the financial statements you’re obliged to report to the government. The only exception is your lists of suppliers and customers.
These are commercially sensitive, and remain confidential, but STC needs them in order to automatically calculate carbon footprints up and down the supply chain (e.g. to know how much of your carbon footprint to allocate to your customers, and how much of your suppliers’ footprints to allocate to yours).
Evidence
STC does not require you to submit documentary evidence, like a financial auditor might. Our Licence Agreement obliges you to provide honest and accurate data.
For the Pilot stage, your data is checked by human experts for anomalous entries that might be due to, for example, a misplaced decimal point, or wrong unit.
